MDP Summer Internship Spotlight—Ms. Frias

  1. Tell us about yourself?
I am a student who lives in New York City. My academic interests are in English and Science. My hobbies include reading, writing, and watching movies.
  2. What got you interested in the Mission Driven Purpose Internship?
I was drawn to Mission Driven Purpose because of its faith-driven values. The organization is emphatically based on helping others and building community awareness—two aspects I find to be essential when it comes to creating real palpable and positive change.
  3. What was your experience like with the MDP Internship Program?
My experience with Mission Driven Purpose was eye-opening. I had the privilege of doing research on behalf of the organization. I also collaboratively worked with the management team, identifying a menagerie of ways for the organization to gain supplies and resources.
  4. What did you enjoy the most about your internship with Mission Driven Purpose?
I enjoyed the Lunch and Learn programs on Fridays, where various people from the organization would present on topics such as mental health, time management, and networking. The MDP Lunch and Learn program was informative, as I gained valuable insights on topics that are rarely covered within the school environment.
  5. How has your work with MDP impacted your future plans?
My future plans are to finish my senior year and graduate. The work I have done with MDP has impacted me positively as I have gained a greater understanding of the workforce and the importance of communicating in a job setting. MDP gave me the clarity to pursue a career I am passionate about and would actively enjoy. With this internship, I feel comfortable in what I would like to do in the future.
